Dr Ogan is a Co-Founder
of BHO Inc., and serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief. He obtained his medical
degree from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, Nigeria.
In 1988, he began an Internal Medicine residency at Howard University
Hospital in Washington D.C. At the end of his first year of training,
he received the Williams' Award given annually to the most outstanding
first year post-graduate trainee at Howard University Hospital. In his
third year of residency training he was appointed Chief Resident of the
Internal Medicine program. He completed his residency in 1991, and became
certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in September of the
same year. Subsequently, he completed an Anesthesia residency at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta. He is board certified in Anesthesia. In
1996 he completed a Critical Care fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
Minnesota. He is also board certified in Critical Care Medicine. He was
Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Morehouse University
College of Medicine until June of 1997 when he entered Private Medical
Practice. He is also CEO of Medstar Corporation, an Emergency and Critical
Care Medicine consulting company that assists developing countries in
the acquisition of Intensive care medicine technology and training. Dr
Ogan's broad based training, and his frontline experience as a critical
care practitioner at a large urban medical center, have given him deep
insight into the problems of healthcare access and consumption in minority
populations. Harnessing this experience to provide information that might
